W3-Professorship in Microbial Metabolic Interactions

At the Faculty of Biology and Pharmacy, a

W3-Professorship in Microbial Metabolic Interactions 

will be appointed at the Institute of Microbiology.

The candidate should have excellent records and experience
in metabolic interactions which includes metabolic networks
and profiling, metabolic changes in evolution, bio-geo-interactions
or microbial consortia including infections of both
human and plant hosts. The position at the Institute of Microbiology
is associated with the Jena School for Microbial
Communication (www.jsmc.uni-jena.de) providing an attractive
research environment. Collaboration with institutes at the
university and with non-university research institutes, e.g. in
bio-geo-interactions, human pathogens, microbial signaling
molecules or light-driven reactions in microalgae as well as
with biotech companies for optimization of microbial cells
for production of compounds, re-programming metabolic
networks to establish biodegradation strains is highly appreciated.

Teaching is ex-pected in all parts of microbiology,
specifically in the MSc Microbiology.

The Friedrich-Schiller-University attempts to appoint more
