We are interested in the origin of evolutionary novelties at both the genetic and phenotypic level. How does the phylogeny of developmental control genes encoding transcription factors contribute to the evolution of complex morphological structures? Our major study objectis the phylogeny of MADS-box genes and their role in the evolution of land plants.
