All members of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena have been following the news about the health crisis caused by the outbreak of novel coronavirus in China. We are deeply concerned about everybody’s well-being and hope that the crisis will be overcome very soon. It is with great admiration that we see the Chinese people fighting the virus and putting in great efforts to keep it at bay.
We would like to express our sympathy and solidarity with our Chinese students and staff, their families, our Chinese partner universities, and the Chinese people in general. We want to assure you of our ongoing friendship and belief in the strength of internationalization.
Chinese students from our partner universities currently staying at the University of Jena may extend their stay if they wish to do so. We will be glad to host them until the crisis has passed. Incoming students will still be as welcome as ever. Please keep in contact with email@example.com before your arrival. Please also keep informed about the latestinformation and recommendations issued by the German Federal Foreign Office (www.auswaertiges-amt.de/en/aussenpolitik/themen/coronavirus/2298448) and the WHO (www.who.int/health-topics/coronavirus).
Our International Office, alongside many University institutions, offers advice and support to all international students and staff. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We ask all members of the University to show solidarity with their fellow students and co-workers and speak up against any racist remark or behaviour.
