To create attractive and sustainable career paths is a key issue for the future of the German academic system. During this evening event, Members of Parliament will discuss possible approaches and the political framework conditions.

The focus will be on the successful establishment and further development of the tenure track principle and the question of what conditions are needed for a reliable, transparent and fair career system in academia. What political and structural reforms are necessary to ensure that academia remains an attractive place to work in the long term? We want to discuss this with key representatives from the political arena.

On the podium are:

  • Ayse Asar, Member of the German Parliament (spokesperson for research, technology and space travel, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen)
  • Oliver Kaczmarek, Member of the German Parliament (spokesperson for education and research, SPD)
  • Sonja Lemke, Member of the German Bundestag (Spokesperson for Research and Technology, Die Linke)
  • Florian Müller, Member of the German Bundestag (Spokesperson for Research, Technology and Space, CDU/CSU)

Moderator: Dr Jan Wöpking (Managing Director, German U15)

The event will be followed by a reception to continue the dialogue in a more informal setting. The language of the event will be German.
