In academia, excellent work does not always speak for itself. Researchers also need to communicate their expertise clearly and confidently—in meetings, research colloquia, presentations and conversations with senior colleagues.

This interactive workshop supports women researchers in STEM in strengthening their professional visibility and expanding their communication repertoire. Participants practise presenting their ideas concisely, asserting their positions and responding confidently to criticism, interruptions and dominant behaviour.

  • Communicate with confidence and impact
  • Present and defend their positions clearly
  • Handle interruptions, criticism and dominant behaviour
  • Set boundaries confidently and respectfully
  • Use status, body language and voice effectively
