In Summer Semester 2026, the Data Literacy project organizes flexible courses on topics regarding data and digitization for students.

In the summer semester 2026, the "Data & AI Literacy" team from the Office for Digital Transformation is once again organising various offers that give students the opportunity to increase their digital, data and AI skills.

The offers are designed in such a way that they can be taken flexibly and according to your own interests and time constraints.

All students are welcome - no prior knowledge is required.

Hands-on sessions

The hands-on sessions de are thematically focussed, 90-minute introductions that offer a practical introduction to selected topics and tools on data and artificial intelligence. Depending on the topic, the focus is on practical applications, joint discussions or working with specific tools.

This semester's topics include e.g. tools for exploring tables, data protection, statistics in everyday life and the basics of machine learning.

Datenwerkstatt Jena 2026

Our Data & AI Literacy Datathon "Datenwerkstatt Jena 2026" will take place from 7 to 9 October. During the datathon, participants will work in interdisciplinary teams on real-life challenges and can strengthen their data and AI expertise by working on real projects.

The three-day datathon is preceded by two days of workshops, which offer beginners an introduction to useful methods and tools for working on the challenges and can be used voluntarily.

Data & AI Literacy Jena (DALIJE) certificate programme

The certificate programme Data & AI Literacy Jena de (DALIJE) gives anyone interested the opportunity to delve deeper into topics relating to data, digitalisation and AI and get a certificate. The certificate can be completed flexibly throughout the entire degree programme and can be individually tailored.
