Afro-Indigenous Geographies: Territory, Ancestrality and Epistemologies of the South creates a space for encounter, exchange and shared learning between different territories, forms of knowledge and experiences. The focus is on Afro-descendant and Indigenous perspectives from Colombia that engage in dialogue with the European context. The event is conceived as a decolonial learning space: the aim is not to talk about territories, but to learn alongside them. In doing so, it brings to light systems of knowledge that have long been marginalised in academic discourse, yet make central contributions to our understanding of territory, memory, community and resistance.
The event is organised by PACÁ – Puente Académico Colombo-Alemán in collaboration with Iberoamérica e. V., the Academy for Teaching Development at the FSU Jena, BioGeCo, Raíces Piangüeras, and the Faculties of Humanities and Education at the Universidad del Valle in Colombia.
