DESCRIPTION:Movement and Exercise Science test laboratory\n\n<p>In everyday university life and during sports, a good balance of flexibility, stability, and balance is important. Limitations in these areas can lead to poor movement patterns and increase the strain on joints and muscles. That’s why we use three short tests to assess key aspects of your physical performance.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>• Knee-to-Wall Test (Ankle): Measures how far you can move your knee forward with your heel on the ground. Good ankle flexibility is important for efficient movement and helps prevent unnecessary compensatory movements in the knee, hip, or back.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>• Stand-and-Reach Test (Back): Tests the flexibility of the posterior muscle chain, particularly the thighs and lower back. The result provides insight into how flexible these structures are and whether they may have been restricted by prolonged sitting.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>• Y-Balance Test (Balance): Assesses your dynamic stability while standing on one leg. The test shows how well you can control your balance while moving and highlights any differences between the left and right sides of your body.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>• Mobility alone is not enough: Joints also need sufficient muscle strength to remain stable and resilient. Since our bodies adapt to the demands of daily life, muscles can develop differently depending on the load. Differences between the left and right sides, in particular, can indicate one-sided strain or movement patterns. An ultrasound measurement provides insight into the development of your muscles.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>• Ultrasound (quadriceps and calf): The diagnostic procedure known as ultrasound is familiar to many from the medical field. However, it not only allows for the visualization of organs and tissues but also the measurement of muscle thickness. This allows us to assess the development of your muscles and identify any differences between the left and right sides of your body.
