A stay abroad is becoming increasingly important for your career. As a member of the teaching staff at the University of Jena, you have the opportunity to learn foreign education systems and to play an active part in shaping them, both in Europe or elsewhere in the world. On the following pages, you will find information about short-term teaching-related stays abroad.

Funding opportunities and exchange programmes of the International Office

Participating in various interdisciplinary projects of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the International Office offers university lecturers different funding options for global collaborations, business trips, and invitations for international academics. Depending on the project, you must meet different criteria. Please mind that not every trip or stay abroad can be funded.

Do you need further information? Please refer to the programme descriptions and application forms on the following websites.

DAAD programmes

DAAD offers comprehensive funding programmes for academics engaging in projects and partnerships with international universities worldwide.

Where can you find further details? Please refer to the DAAD scholarship database for external funding programmes and individual funding options. For professional training courses, it is also worth visiting the website of the International DAAD Academy.

Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

Scientists and scholars with outstanding postdoctoral qualifications can also apply for project-related research funds provided by the Alexander Humboldt Foundation. For current calls of applications and application forms, please refer to the Humboldt Foundation database.
