The International Office offers students many opportunities to get to know each other better and to network. It also offers workshops where international students can obtain information on various aspects of life in Jena/Germany.

Intercultural Café

The Intercultural Café takes place once every month during the lecture period. Normally we meet in the Café on the Wall in the International Centre, Johannisplatz 26th Dates in the summer semester 2020:

  • May 6th, 2020, 6pm, was about:
    • Getting to know each other,
    • Important information about the start of the semester,
    • IntRo, ESN, Studierendenwerk introduce themselves
  • June 3rd 2020, via zoom, was about:
    • Get-to-know each other
    • Speedfriending
  • July 1st, 2020, 4pm, was about:
    • Discovering the city
  • July 17th, 7pm, was about:
    • Hiking trip to Jenzig
  • August 2nd, 4pm, will be about:
    • Hiking trip to Fuchsturm on the mountain "Hausberg"
    • Meeting point: Johannistor at 4pm

After that we will have our summer break! We wish you successful exams and nice holidays!
The first date in the new semester will be on:

  • October 7th, 2020, 4pm

Everyone is welcome. The Café is always for free. Do you have any questions/theme ideas? Then please write to incoming@uni-jena.de

By the way: the first Intercultural Café of a semester always takes place within the framework of the Welcome Days.

  • applying for a residence permit
  • organizing your studies
  • studying healthily
  • intercultural life on campus
