Ever since its foundation in 1558, the University of Jena has embodied awakening and open-mindedness, freedom of faith and science. Collaborating with more than 500 European and other partner institutions of higher education as well as research institutions from all continents, the University of Jena promotes the exchange of students, scientists and scholars, and other staff members. It is a partner in numerous international research and other associations in higher education, in large EU projects, and interdisciplinary networks.
