Das Studienprogramm der Graduierten-Akademie für das Wintersemester 2009/2010 ist online. Das Programm besteht aus drei Säulen: Wissenschaftliche Kompetenzen, Schlüsselqualifikationen und Sprachen. Genauere Informationen zum Konzept

• Das Programm der Graduierten-Akademie erscheint nicht mehr als Broschüre, sondern nur noch online.
• Von allen Veranstaltungen können Sie sich nun auch online wieder abmelden, und das in nur drei einfachen Schritten: (1) Einloggen, (2) Meine Seminare (3) Jetzt abmelden. Bitte nutzen Sie die Abmeldefunktion, damit wir Nachrückern die Teilnahme an den Veranstaltungen ermöglichen können!

Wussten Sie schon, dass Sie alle Ihre Veranstaltungen (von gebucht bis besucht) unter "meine Seminare" einsehen und abrufen können und dass die Graduierten-Akademie Ihnen auf Anfrage gerne ein Dokument mit allen von Ihnen belegten Veranstaltungen ausstellt?

Ab 15.10.2009 haben Promovierende der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität die Möglichkeit, sich online über das neue System doc-in zu registrieren und zu immatrikulieren.
Über doc-in können Sie die Zulassung Ihrer Promotion bei der Fakultät und die Immatrikulation elektronisch beantragen. Außerdem wird es möglich sein, die Promotionsakte einzusehen und den Fortgang Ihres Promotionsverfahrens online zu verfolgen.
Mit der Immatrikulation verbinden sich viele Vorteile, z.B. erhalten Sie Preisermäßigungen für Studierende in den Mensen und Cafeterien des Studentenwerks sowie eine Nahverkehrs-Flatrate.
Alle Promovierenden, die sich zwischen dem 15.10.2009 und dem 15.01.2010 online registrieren, erhalten eine Doktoranden-thoska im Wert von 20 ¤ plus eine einmalige Aufladung mit 30 ¤, beispielsweise zur Nutzung in der Mensa oder als Kopierkarte.
Übrigens: die Aufladung der Doktoranden-thoska mit 30 ¤ erhalten Sie auch, wenn Sie bereits an der FSU als Promotionsstudent/-in eingeschrieben sind und sich jetzt erstmalig bei doc-in anmelden.

Am 10. Juni 2009 fand das erste Sommerfest der Graduierten-Akademie statt. Eröffnet wurde das Sommerfest mit einer Festveranstaltung in der Aula. Gastredner waren  Prof. Katja Windt von der Jacobs University Bremen und Prof. Jens Förster vom Kurt Lewin Institute (Niederlande). Die Titel der Vorträge finden Sie hier. Anschließend gab es einen Sektempfang im Eingang zum Innenhof, wo die Mitglieder der Graduierten-Akademie Informationsstände aufgebaut hatten. Zur Musik der Band "Waits 4 Devil"  wurde danach im Innenhof gefeiert. Für das leibliche Wohl sorgte das Studentenwerk.

Im Frühsommer 2010 wird es das nächste Sommerfest geben, das mit einer fakultätsübergreifenden feierlichen Verleihung der Promotionsurkunden verbunden werden soll (Organisation: Franziska Höring). Wir freuen uns jetzt schon auf Ihr Kommen!

Im Juni 2009 wurden neue Post-Doc- und Doktorandenvertreter in den Rat der Akademie gewählt. Erstmalig fand bei den Doktoranden die Wahl in Fächergruppen statt.

Die Ombudsstelle der Graduierten-Akademie hat die Aufgabe, schwerwiegende Konflikte zwischen Doktorandinnen/Doktoranden und ihren Betreuerinnen/Betreuern zu schlichten bzw. zwischen den beteiligten Parteien zu vermitteln.
Die Ombudsstelle besteht aus zwei erfahrenen Wissenschaftlern, die vertraulich, unabhängig und neutral agieren. Sie gehören unterschiedlichen Fachkulturen an.

Das Team der GA wird seit dem 01. Oktober 2009 durch zwei neue Gesichter verstärkt. Wir freuen uns auf die Zusammenarbeit mit Maja Stolle und Dr. Tessa Hegetschweiler. Tessa Hegetschweiler übernimmt die Stelle von Dr. Muriel Helbig, die als Dezernentin die Leitung des Internationalen Büros an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar übernimmt.

At the beginning of the new semester, this is the second issue of our „Graduierten-Post“.  With our Graduierten-Post we would like to inform you on news, offers, persons etc. at the Graduate Academy (GA). The Graduate Academy’s study programme of the winter semester 2009/10 is online. The programme has three pillars: Core Research Skills, Transferable Skills and Languages.

Based on last semester’s surveys (thank you again to all participants!) we have introduced the following new courses:

Did you know that you can access all the seminars you have registered for and attended under “My seminars” and that the Graduate Academy will issue a confirmation for all the seminars you have attended?

From October 15, 2009 onwards doctoral candidates at Friedrich-Schiller-University are asked to register and enrol online through the new system doc-in.
Through doc-in you can apply online to your faculty for the approval of your thesis. In addition, it will be possible to access your records and follow the progress of the procedures required for your doctoral degree.
The enrolment has many advantages for doctoral candidates. For example, they receive discounts for students in the university cantines and cafeterias, as well as the public transportation flatrate.
All doctoral candidates registering online between October 15, 2009 and January 15, 2010, will receive their thoska-card for free (instead of 20,-¤) plus a 30,-¤ credit on their card. This can be used, for example, in the cafeterias and for photocopying.
By the way: You will also receive the 30,-¤ credit on your thoska-card if you already are enroled as a PhD student at Friedrich-Schiller-University and register through doc-in for the first time.

On June 10, 2009 the Graduate Academy held its first summer party. The party was opened by an event in the auditorium. Guest speakers were Prof. Katja Windt from Jacobs University Bremen and Prof. Jens Förster from the Kurt Lewin Institute / Netherlands. You will find the titles of the talks here. The talks were followed by a reception at the entrance to the courtyard where the Graduate Academy members had arranged information stalls. Accompanied by the music of the band "Waits 4 Devil" we celebrated in the courtyard. The Studentenwerk looked after our physical well-being.

We are planning the next summer party for early summer 2010, which shall be combined with the award of doctoral diplomas in several faculties (organisation: Franziska Höring). We are looking forward to your coming!

In June 2009 new Post-Doc and doctoral student representatives were elected for the Board of the Academy. For the first time, the elections were held according to discipline.

The ombudsmen of the Graduate Academy have the task of resolving severe conflicts between PhD-students and their supervisors and to mediate between the involved parties.
The ombudsmen are two experienced scientists who act confidentially, independently and neutrally. They have their background in different disciplines.

There are two new faces in the Graduate Academy's team: We are looking forward to working together with Maja Stolle und Dr. Tessa Hegetschweiler. Tessa Hegetschweiler is taking over Muriel Helbig's position who has a new post as head of the International Office at the Bauhaus University in Weimar.

The Graduate Academy at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena was established to create a research environment of the highest international standards for PhD students and Post-Doctoral researchers. History of the Graduate Academy

At present, four Graduate Schools, three Research Training Groups and one Doctoral School are Graduate Academy members.
Members

Head of the Graduate Academy office is Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Amélie Mummendey. The administration of the Graduate Academy consists of the following bodies: one administrative director who is responsible for the daily business and represents the Graduate Academy in public affairs, an Executive Committee which makes decisions in all affairs and the Board of the Academy. The board resembles a faculty board. The board determines the Graduate Academy's profile and decides upon the admittance of new members, the formation of subject groups and the awarding of scholarships.
The Graduate Academy organises the awarding of the Landesgraduiertenstipendien (state grants). In addition, the Graduate Academy awards the following scholarships: Short-term Grants and Short-term Grants for foreign PhD-students.
