Events
- Online PhD Graduation Ceremony on Schillertag
On 25 June, the doctoral and habilitation prizes are
awarded in a ceremonial setting and all doctoral
candidates are honoured who completed their doctoral
degrees at FSU in the two previous years. The event
will be held in German. The event will take place as
an online event and is open to everyone who is
interested. You can find more information here.
- Start-up and Innovation Day 2021
The "Start-up and Innovation Day 2021" will take
place on 08 June. First, five start-up ideas will be
presented in a pitch, on which a jury and the
audience can then vote. A discussion session on the
topic of "New Mobility – The Future of the Car" will
follow. The event will be held in German. You can
register for the event here.
- DR.FSU: Quiz night
On 17 June, the DR.FSU is hosting a final Online
Quiz Night at 7pm! Brush off the pandemic blues with
some fun and offbeat questions and get some cool
prizes! The event takes place via Zoom
(password: night).

Get

- We had plenty of pictures send to us for our
digital photo competition „Hats off!“. Until
4 June, you can vote for your favourite hat in our
online-voting. All photos and descriptions can be
found here.
- During the summer term 2021, the elections of
the doctoral council (DR.FSU) and the Board of the
Academy will be taking place. It will be an online
election from 15 June, 14:00 h, to 24 July, 14:00 h.
Using your URZ login, you can vote on this website.
After the login, you will find "Gremienwahlen" in
the left menu. All candidates can be found here.
- On 15 June at 12 pm, there will be a one-hour
online information event on the topic of "Setting
up a Business in Germany" for international
doctoral candidates and visiting researchers. Please
register with an e-mail to gawi@uni-jena.de
by 10 June.

Award of the European Inventor Award.
The prize is awarded by the European Patent Office
and honours inventors not only for their scientific

News from the Friedrich Schiller University Jena
- From 07 June, vaccination prioritisation
will be lifted in Thuringia. All persons
who want to be vaccinated no longer need a
certificate and can get an appointment via the vaccination
portal.
- In July, an alternative form of science
communication will be tried out in Jena: From 19
July to 01 August, various artists will
deal with scientific research results in an
artistic form at the Trafo.
At the end, an exhibition on the scientific topics
will be created. You can find more information here.
- The University merchandising shop offers a new
gimmick: Friedrich Schiller as a Playmobil
figure! The figure shows the poet in
historical costume with desk and chair, quill and
inkwell, book (William Tell) and apple. The set
costs only 7.95 euros.
