On 5. May 1949 the Council of Europe was founded. On 9. May 1950 the Schuman Declaration laid the foundation for what was to become the EU—an idea and an institution moving forward, testing values, facing ever new challenges.

Europe Week is a time to look forward: European University Alliances are taking shape across Europe, creating new, sustainable cooperation structures and opening up new mobility options for students, teachers, researchers and non-scientific employees.

EC2U, the University Alliance of the University of Jena, and its national accompanying project FECT invite you to reflect on Europe and take action in your studies, your research and your daily work, both within and beyond the EC2U Alliance. Find out how.

To mark Europe Day, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has launched the "European Universities Week" under the patronage of the Federal Minister of Education, Bettina Stark-Watzinger.
