Current surveys

What was important to you when deciding on your degree programme at the University of Jena? Which information and counselling services at the University did you use and were they helpful to you? How satisfied are you after the first semester? Where do you see room for improvement regarding the start of your studies?

First year students who started their studies last winter semester and are now enrolled in their 2^nd semester with us are currently being questioned. The invitation is sent by the University of Jena.

We kindly invite you to share your experiences and take the time to answer the questions. As a thank you, five Uni-Shop vouchers worth €20 each will be given away as part of the survey.

How much importance do students attach to the internationality of your university? How do they rate the university's international programs? What difficulties do they face preparing for study-related stays abroad? Which aspects were particularly relevant for international students when deciding on a host university? And how do the results compare with other, similar universities in Germany? The "Benchmark International University" (BintHo) project explores these questions and more.

The survey of German university students (BintHo) is conducted and coordinated every three years by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and is financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). 

At the University of Jena, the BintHo-Project was conducted as a full survey in January 2024.

In 2024, the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) is once again conducting a survey of students in the following subject groups at our university: 
Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Earth/Biogeosciences, Pharmacy, Physics, Politics, Sociology, Sports Science, Mathematics, Computer Science/Bioinformatics and Medicine/Dentistry.

The invitations to the survey are sent out by us as a university.

In coordination with your faculty, the Central Office for Teaching Evaluation (Universitätsprojekt Lehrevaluation) conducts an interim survey. 

The survey aims to increase the quality of study programmes and the study environment. Your feedback will help people in charge to develop appropriate measures in orders to improve the teaching situation. This winter semester, students from 66 degree programmes were invited by e-mail taking part in the survey.
