    17,539 students ... ... were enrolled at Friedrich Schiller University Jena with its 10 faculties and 122 degree programmes offered in the winter semester 2022/23. Among these students were 3,804 first-year students taking up studies in their first subject semester. Of the total number of students, 56% were women and 15% were international students from 120 different nations.

    9,886 staff members ... ... were employed at the University of Jena (3,742) and Jena University Hospital (6,144), working in teaching, research, technology, administration, and patient care at the end of 2022. Of these employees, 4,024 were academic staff, including 409 professors, and 5,470 were non-academic staff, including 392 trainees.

    A 170 million euro third-party funding budget ... was managed by the University of Jena (127 million euros) and Jena University Hospital (43 million euros) in 2022. This means that third-party funding reached an all-time high in 2022.
