Since March 2025, Friedrich Schiller University Jena has been an associate member de of the DWIH New DelhiExternal link, which is an association of 28 German research organisations, universities, funding institutions and research-based companies. It is part of a global network of six centres, which is managed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and funded by the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.

At Friedrich Schiller University Jena, the group of international students from India is the second largest and has almost tripled in the last five years. Currently, the university has five bilateral contracts with educational institutions in India, with the oldest cooperation being in its twentieth year of existence. Together, we would like to discuss academic exchange and scientific cooperation as well as the expansion of relations between institutions of higher education in India and Germany.

The speaker, Aadishree Jamkhedkar, is responsible for projects, communication and finances at the DWIH New Delhi. She provides support in strategic and network development. Her interests lie in the (subject) area|field of science policy and cooperation for science-based entrepreneurship. For more than ten years, she has been involved in German-Indian cooperation projects in close collaboration with stakeholders in science, industry and politics.

Ms Aadishree Jamkhedkar, Head of Programme DWIH New Delhi, will present the following topics:

  • Current (science) policy developments in India
  • Presentation of the Indian higher education landscape
  • Innovation landscape in India
  • DAAD funding opportunities for cooperation with India
  • Concrete opportunities for cooperation with DWIH
  • Q&A, discussion.
