The University of Jena's regular degree programmes are open to all people who meet the general university entrance requirements, regardless of their age.

In addition, the University offers a wide range of part-time programmes for professionals leading to academic degrees as well as part-time certificate programmes.

Gifted young people have the opportunity to complete a junior study programme alongside school at the University of Jena from grade 10 and in consultation with their school administration.

In addition to our regular programmes, we offer a variety of courses for curious students of different ages, interests, and abilities. These include:

  • the University for Children aged 6 to 12
  • taster courses for prospective students
  • the University for Senior Citizens with monthly lectures
  • study opportunities for occasional students
  • general studies
