The Master Service Centre (MSZ) will assist you in preparing your enrolment. The enrolment process will then be completed at the International Office and/or the Student Service Centre.

Steps

  1. Read the most important facts on your admission provided on this page and in your admission letter carefully! 
  2. Inform yourself about the required enrolment documents
  3. Inform yourself about the enrolment procedure
  4. Send the paper documents to the Master Service Centre

Important information about your admission

  • Admissions are only valid for the particular semester you have applied for.
  • It is not possible to defer the start date or to use the admission letter to enrol for a later semester.
  • By the time you enrol, you not only have to be able to provide all your degree certificates and academic transcripts but also have to meet the language requirements, i.e. provide the required language proficiency certificates.
  • You must have successfully completed your relevant bachelor's degree programme before enrolling in a master's programme.
  • You can only enrol if you have submitted your complete and correct documents by the specified deadline. You will find the deadline in the Friedolin 2.0External link online application portal.

Enrolment process for international students

  • You're currently enrolled at the University of Jena (bachelor's or master's programme)
    1. Accept your admission offer in the portal by the shown deadline.
    2. Don't apply for enrolment in the portal.
    3. Prepare your enrolment documents. Please see the "Prepare your enrolment documents" section above.
    4. Submit your enrolment documents by post or via our postbox or in person during our office hours. Please note the deadline for submitting your enrolment documents as shown in the Friedolin 2.0External link online application portal.
    5. The status of your application changes to ‘Enrolment application in progress’ when your documents have been received.
    6. The Master Service Centre checks your documents.
    7. We forward your documents to the Student Service Centre.
    8. The Student Service Centre completes your enrolment process.
    9. Enrolment is complete when the status of your application is ‘Enrolled’.
  • You're currently enrolled at the University of Jena (DSH course)
    1. Accept your admission offer in the portal by the shown deadline.
    2. Don't apply for enrolment in the portal.
    3. Submit your admission letter and the filled and signed Application for Change of Programme form (page 1 only) by post or via our postbox or in person during our office hours. No further documents are required. Please note the deadline for submitting your enrolment documents as shown in the Friedolin 2.0External link online application portal.
    4. The status of your application changes to ‘Enrolment application in progress’ when your documents have been received.
    5. The Master Service Centre checks your documents.
    6. We forward your documents to the International Office.
    7. The International Office completes the enrolment process. Learn more about the last steps of the enrolment process on the page of the International Office.
    8. Enrolment is complete when the status of your application is ‘Enrolled’.
  • You're currently enrolled at the University of Jena (guest studies)
    1. Accept your admission offer in the portal by the shown deadline.
    2. Apply for enrolment in the portal.
    3. The status of your application changes to ‘Enrolment applied for’. 
    4. Prepare your enrolment documents. Please check the "Prepare your enrolment documents" section above.
    5. Submit your enrolment documents by post or via our postbox or in person during our office hours.  Please note the deadline for the submission of your enrolment documents as shown in the Friedolin 2.0External link online application portal.
    6. The status of your application changes to ‘Enrolment application in progress’ when your documents have been received.
    7. The Master Service Centre checks your documents.
    8. We forward your documents to the International Office.
    9. The International Office completes your enrolment process. Please contact the International Office for more information on the last steps of your enrolment process at incoming@uni-jena.de.
    10. Enrolment is complete when the status of your application is ‘Enrolled’.
  • You've never been enrolled OR have been enrolled in the past (but not currently) at the University of Jena
    1. Accept your admission offer in the portal by the shown deadline.
    2. Apply for enrolment in the portal.
    3. The status of your application changes to ‘Enrolment applied for’.
    4. Prepare your enrolment documents. Please check the "Prepare your enrolment documents" section above. Please note the deadline for applying for enrolment and for submitting your enrolment documents as shown in the Friedolin 2.0External link online application portal.
    5. Submit your enrolment documents by post or via our postbox or in person during our office hours.
    6. The status of your application changes to ‘Enrolment application in progress’ when your documents have been received.
    7. The Master Service Centre checks your documents.
    8. We forward your documents to the International Office.

    10. Enrolment is complete when the status of your application is ‘Enrolled’.

Enrolment process for German students

  • You're currently enrolled at the University of Jena
    1. Accept your admission offer in the portal by the shown deadline.

    5. The status of your application changes to ‘Enrolment application in progress’ when your documents have been received.
    6. The Master Service Centre checks your documents.
    7. We forward your documents to the Student Service Centre.
    8. The Student Service Centre completes your enrolment process.
    9. Enrolment is complete when the status of your application shows ‘Enrolled’.
  • You've never been enrolled OR have been enrolled in the past (but not currently) at the University of Jena
    1. Accept your admission offer in the portal by the shown deadline.
    2. Apply for enrolment in the portal.
    3. The status of your application changes to ‘Enrolment applied for’.

    9. The Student Service Centre completes your enrolment process.
    10. Enrolment is complete when the status of your application shows ‘Enrolled’.

    Please note: Send a copy of your bachelor's degree diploma by 15.8. (in case of summer semester intake) or 15.2. (in case of winter semester intake) respectively to the Student Service Centre, in case you didn't have the diploma by the time you enrolled.
