On the 3rd of July 2025, the University of Jena hosted its local EC2U Think Tank on the topic:
‘City of the future Jena: How can we promote resilience to climate change?’.
Fourteen representatives of various interest groups from the university, city administration, hospital, business, students and citizens took part in a moderated round table discussion. The aim of the discussions was to exchange views on the social urgency of climate change and to gain actionable insights for creating more sustainable and resilient cities across Europe.

Think tanks are an important part of the EC2U AllianceExternal link. It is a space for people with different perspectives to come together to develop common visions and find new solutions to the challenges facing the EC2U community. More information can be found here.External link
A think tank on the topic of ‘Strengthening resilience to climate change in cities and municipalities’ took place this year in all EC2U university cities. A strategy paper for the EC2U Alliance will be developed from the results of all local think tanks and forwarded to the European Commission.
