Welcome to Jena – meet new people and get started together!

A diverse programme offers all new students many opportunities to get to know other students, the city and the University of Jena.

It is organised by the International Office in close cooperation with many student groups and other institutions and is open to all students.

                              Programme of the Welcome Days: 26 March - 30 April 2026

All events are included in the events calendar(steadily updated).

WelcomeCafé at the International Centre  26 March - 10 April 2026 / Mon-Fri 3-5 p.m. 

The Welcome Café always takes place in the International Centre during the Welcome Days. It is organised by international students and is aimed at new (international) students. At the WelcomeCafé, you can meet other new students and get tips on studying and living in Jena. Our workshops provide information on the topics of finding accommodation, visa application, study organization and much more. The WelcomeCafé team helps new students wit their questions about the enrolment.

Opening hours: 26 March - 10 April 2026 (except 3-6 April) / Mon-Fri 3-5 p.m.
