In dialogue for an open and active society
Image: Christoph Worsch (University of Jena)At the OpenFORUM Jena (MitmachFORUM Jena), the university, the city and the region are breaking new ground: together with the city's citizens, we are testing concepts for more dialogue between research, politics, administration and society in exciting events. The OpenFORUM invites everyone to contribute their knowledge. After its completion, the new FORUM of the University of Jena in the middle of the city will continue this diverse exchange in the long term as an open communication centre.
From 2027, the University of Jena will be bringing science and society in the region together with a new dialogue bus. All members of the university community are invited to have their say: What should the science bus be called? What ideas would you like to realise? (Unilogin required)
How can everyday spaces be designed to be accessible and pleasant for everyone? Whether it’s loud music, narrow aisles or blinking billboards: many people quickly feel uncomfortable in noisy and crowded places. The ‘Quiet Hour’ deliberately creates space for more peace and quiet and greater participation. At the OpenFORUM, we’ll be talking about the concept and discussing it with interested parties, those affected and retailers.
