Media designers for digital and print media are creative minds with technical expertise. They design and produce traditional print media such as brochures, advertisements, posters, magazines and catalogues as well as digital media products and websites. They work with modern media design programmes and operate technical equipment such as digital and laser printers or printing machines. The job profile is constantly changing and today is strongly characterised by the multiple use of digital data in different media.
The profession requires creativity, technical understanding and the ability to adapt quickly to new trends. The ability to work in a team is essential, as media designers work closely with editors, programmers, designers and communication managers to develop effective and target group-orientated media products.
