Since this summer, the University of Jena has guidelines for the postdoctoral phasepdf, 286 kb. The University Senate approved the guidelines in its meeting on 2 July 2024. Guidelines for the doctoral phasepdf, 351 kb · de had already been agreed upon in 2021.
The new guidelines for the postdoctoral phase represent principal features and recommendations on how this temporary academic phase can be successfully mastered and how postdocs can be appropriately supported. The Guidelines are recommendations and are intended to improve the research and work culture for postdocs at the University of Jena. To this end, the respective responsibilities of the groups involved in the postdoctoral phase (postdocs, supervisors, university) are described at the end of the guidelines.
The guidelines were developed by the Senate Committee for Early Career Researchers. The committee had set up a working group that developed a draft of the guidelines between May 2022 and April 2023. The working group included professors, academic staff, the Doctoral Council and students.
