About the speaker:

Doreen Mollenhauer studied Chemistry in Jena and received her doctorate from the Free University of Berlin in 2011. This was followed by research stays in New Zealand and elsewhere. In 2014, she received an offer of professorship at Justus Liebig University Giessen, initially as a junior professor and later as Professor of Theoretical Chemistry.

She has been at Friedrich Schiller University Jena since November 2024 and holds the professorship for Simulation and Modelling of Polymers. The professorship is a joint professorship at the Helmholtz Institute for Polymers in Energy Applications Jena HIPOLE - an institute of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie (HZB) in cooperation with the Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

Her research focuses on the modelling and simulation of polymers in relation to energy storage and conversion. She uses methods of theoretical chemistry and chemical material modelling.
