As a centre of science, Jena is synonymous with excellent research, international visibility and an exceptionally high concentration of high-performance research infrastructures. With its universities, University Hospital and numerous research institutions, Jena offers the ideal conditions for the efficient, sustainable and collaborative use of large-scale equipment and research infrastructure.
This is precisely where JenaVersum comes in: since its foundation in 2021, the network has been specifically promoting networking, collaboration and the coordinated use of research infrastructures. The ‘JenaVersum 2023–2026’ project continues this approach consistently – with the clear aim of creating transparency, making optimal use of resources and enabling new forms of cooperation. At the heart of this development is the web-based open-source platform OpenIRIS.
Following a successful pilot phase and two user days that have already been successfully held, the OpenIRIS community is growing steadily: more and more institutes, core facilities and service units are actively using the platform, making their equipment visible and thus contributing to a networked and sustainable research landscape in Jena.
With the 3rd OpenIRIS User Day for JenaVersum, we would like to once again offer you a platform for information, discussion and networking. The event is aimed at current users as well as those interested in the platform and is specifically designed to strengthen collaboration within the JenaVersum network. You will also gain insights into the latest developments and future prospects of the OpenIRIS platform. In the inspiring surroundings of OpenIRIS provider Lichtwerkstatt at the Abbe Center of Photonics, we would like to discuss with you how research infrastructures can be shared, utilised and further developed even more effectively.
