With the Modular IP-Education Framework (MIPEFExternal link), you’ll gain practical knowledge about patents, intellectual property, and technology transfer. You’ll learn how to use patent information for your research, protect innovations, and facilitate the transfer and application of research results.

The MIPEF programme comprises different courses across Europe. Two courses are currently on offer at Friedrich Schiller University Jena:

  • Entry Level – Fundamentals of intellectual property, patents and innovation
  • Advanced Level – Advanced Topics in Patent Protection, Technology Transfer and IP Commercialisation

The course was developed by the European Patent Office (EPO) and combines the fundamentals of IP systems with their practical application.
