Event details
Connecting Higher Education and the Professional World: This year’s anniversary edition of TechConnect Jena brings together companies from Thuringia with students and researchers from regional universities and research institutions. The goal is to uncover potential for joint projects, practice-oriented theses, or career opportunities after graduation or the completion of a Ph.D.
Table-top fair and discussions on equal terms: The event centers around a table-top fair and topic-specific discussion stations. Here, participants have the opportunity to exchange ideas with company representatives on a level playing field in an open atmosphere. Companies from the technical goods manufacturing sector as well as from the field of manufacturing-related services will be on site—many with a concrete interest in qualified specialists, innovative ideas, and opportunities for collaboration.
Impulses from the Academic World: Jena’s universities bring current developments, practical projects, and new technologies to the event. This direct exchange fosters connections between academic expertise and real-world applications.
Perspectives for Studies and Careers: TechConnect offers an accessible opportunity to make initial contacts with potential employers or industry partners, discuss project ideas, and gain inspiration for your own career path.
Registration and Participation: Participation is free for students at the University of Jena—however, registration is required (register hereExternal link).
Researchers and other university staff are also cordially invited to participate; if you are interested, please contact us to clarify the participation details.
Further information: TechConnect 2026 is organized by the Federal Association of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (BVMW Thuringia) in cooperation with Nucleus Jena and other regional partners. The University of Jena and the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena support the event as part of their technology transfer activities.
