Volunteerism Day Thuringia 2026

On September 17, 2026, the Thuringian Volunteer Foundation is hosting Thuringia’s Volunteerism Day. The event brings together volunteers, volunteer coordinators, and representatives from foundations and organizations that promote civic engagement—right in the middle of National Civic Engagement Week.

The day offers a diverse program featuring nine workshops on key topics in civic engagement—ranging from fundraising and grant applications to legal issues, recruiting young volunteers, and organizational development. Issues surrounding motivation and satisfaction in volunteer work will also be addressed.

A special highlight is the panel discussion with the Federal Network for Civic Engagement (BBE) under the motto “Shaping the Future Together.” Also participating are the Thuringian Civic Engagement Ambassadors for 2026, appointed by the foundation, as well as the volunteer coordinator for the city of Eisenach. The program is rounded out by a creative hands-on activity and plenty of opportunities for discussion, networking, and new ideas.
