What do I need to remember?
If you are already enrolled at Friedrich Schiller University and would like to continue into the next semester, you must re-register in good time. You can view the amount to be paid and the transfer details in Friedolin 2.0 from mid-June before each winter semester and from mid-December before each summer semester.
To confirm your enrolment, simply transfer the new semester fee (and any other fees) to the university's account. The money must be received in the university's account by 15th August before the winter semester and by 15th February before the summer semester.
It may happen that re-registration for the following semester is blocked. In this case, you can submit a request to have the re-registration block liftedExternal link via Friedolin 2.0.
If the transfer is made with the correct reference and amount within the deadline, your account will be activated in the system (confirmation) a few days later, provided there are no obstacles to confirmation. You can then revalidate your Thoska student ID card, register for courses in FriedolinExternal link, and print out study certificates and data sheets. Instructions for printing certificates in Friedolin 2.0 can be found hereExternal link.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
If you have missed the re-registration deadline, do not worry. We will not de-register you immediately. However, you will have to pay a late re-registration charge of €25 to re-register by the extended deadlines (15 March or 15 September).
If you notice that you are unable to re-register despite having transferred your fees, please visit us at the Service Desk. This can sometimes happen when incoming payments are not allocated correctly. In this case, please submit proof of payment (e.g. bank statement, payment receipt from your bank).
International Students
· International guest students (exchange programmes) may re-register for the upcoming semester if they have been confirmed for admission or have been granted permission to extend their studies abroad by their home university and the University of Jena. If you wish to extend your stay abroad, please request and complete the corresponding form from the International Office team: incoming@uni-jena.de.
· DSH course participants may re-register for a maximum period of two semesters. This requires you to achieve good results in the language test at the end of the first semester and pass the entrance test for the highest proficiency level in the following semester. Please make sure you pay the semester fee for the subsequent semester by the stipulated deadlines. If you cannot re-register because you did not meet the required language level, you will receive a refund. Please note that once you have passed the DSH-2 exam, you will not be able to re-register for this course. The payment deadlines for the course fees will be announced in good time in class.
· Prospective students completing a foundational course at the International Study Centre Thuringia (Internationales Studienzentrum Thüringen) can re-register if they can demonstrate that they successfully completed their first semester by submitting adequate proof to the International Office.
As far as the semester fee is concerned, the regular rules and deadlines apply.
Exceptions
Students with disabilities are eligible for free travel. To have your transport fees waived (trains and local public transport), please submit a copy of the supplementary sheet that comes with your disabled person’s pass. The sheet must include a valid disability code. To avoid any problems or delays, please make sure you pay the full amount first. Please submit an application for fee exemptionExternal link in Friedolin 2.0 within the re-registration period.
