The Friedrich Schiller University Jena promotes the transfer of generated knowledge into innovations and practical applications. University Jena sees knowledge and technology transfer (KTT) as a core strategic task and, as a comprehensive university with strong faculties in the natural sciences and humanities, is committed to this third mission.

The staff of the Transfer service area provide comprehensive services to support the initiation and implementation of research projects with partners from industry, the execution of research contracts, the exploitation of research results (e.g., through licensing), as well as their own startup projects.
