The Section Press and Public Relations is the initial point of contact for journalists who need information about and from the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. To convey the topics of the University to the general public effectively, the unit tailors the content to the needs of the various media and spreads it through national and international channels.
Furthermore, our team organizes press conferences and helps to find experts on various topics for the media. Twice a year, we publish the research magazine LICHTGEDANKEN in German and in English. In addition, the Section Press and Public Relations maintains the University's central websites and social media channels, strengthens the internal communication and provides photos of the University and its members.

In addition, the section has been offering a traineeship for many years and has regularly been awarded the Traineeship Prize of the Federal Association of University Communication for the exemplary training of volunteers since the prize was introduced in 2019.
