Exercise and nutrition are two important building blocks for maintaining your own health and performance. The University Sports department is constantly launching new, innovative Sports and health programmes. We also develop measures to support our employees in eating healthily at work and to sensitise them to the importance of healthy eating.

Company run
The popular Jena company run takes place every year. University Sports at the University of Jena offers a free running course for optimal preparation for this event and to promote the shared joy of exercise.
The primary aim of this 5-week course is to prepare absolute beginners for the 5.5 km lap of the company run in the best possible way and to convey the communal joy of exercise. By alternating between walking and running, we slowly acclimatise you to the upcoming running exertion. As your fitness increases, the walking breaks will be reduced and your body will gently adapt to the increasing running time. Taking part in the company run together is our personal course highlight.
Participating in the company run together is the highlight of the course. The Friedrich Schiller University will pay the entry fees.
