The University of Jena maintains more than 40 collections and museums as well as a poet's house. Some of them date back to the 19th century or are even older. For example, Goethe's work in Jena can be traced through the collections, including the Goethe Laboratory, the Astronomical Collection and the Prehistory and Early History Collection.
Some of the facilities, such as Schiller's Garden House, are open to the public. However, the majority are research and teaching collections that can only be visited for research and study purposes. The Collection Portal makes the holdings accessible in digitalized form to all interested parties.
The Collection Portal is the central online presence of the collections of the University of Jena and provides information about exhibition projects, for example. Here you can research the digitalized holdings of the collections. An "Object of the Month" is presented monthly.

Exhibition Advisory Committee
The Exhibition Advisory Committee decides on exhibition projects at the University of Jena that are to be shown in centrally administered areas - i.e. outside institutes or similar. In addition, the committee should be informed in good time about the installation of information displays, etc. With the exhibition cabinet, there is a room in the University's main building that has been set up specifically for presentations.
