The ERASMUS+ support contains:
- No study fees at your host university. Insurance costs, student's social security contributions and costs for the use of teaching materials do not count as tuition fees.
- a financial grant, the ERASMUS + scholarship. A stay of two to twelve months is eligible. The ERASMUS + funding is paid according to country groups and therefore depends on the general cost of living in the host country.

Special support for students with fewer opportunities
Erasmus promotes sustainability, equal opportunities and inclusion. For this reason, students with fewer opportunities can receive additional funding.
1. Additional funding for sustainable travel (green travel)
For sustainable travel, you have the option of claiming up to 6 additional travel days as days of stay.
‘Green travel’ is defined as travel in which the following means of transport are used for the main part of the journey:
Bicycle
Bus
Carpooling
Train
Other sustainable means of transport (e.g. on foot)2. Additional funding for participants with fewer opportunities
Participating students who meet at least one of the eligibility criteria described below can receive additional funding of £250/month for social participation (social top-up):
Working students:
The employment must have been exercised for at least 6 months prior to the stay abroad. The monthly income during the minimum period is above £450 and below £850 net. The employment in the UK is not continued during the stay abroad, not even through mobile working. Termination is not a prerequisite; the employment contract can also be paused.
First-generation academics (students from non-academic families):
Neither parent nor guardian has a degree from a university, college, technical college or vocational academy in Germany.Students with children:
At least one child of their own will be taken along for the entire stay abroad. Funding is also possible if the partner is travelling with them.
Students with chronic illnesses:
They have a chronic illness that causes additional financial needs abroad.
Students with disabilities:
They have a disability with a degree of disability of 20 or more.Participants with disabilities or chronic illnesses, as well as participants with children, can claim actual costs.
This requires an application to the DAAD National Agency. Students in the target group have the opportunity to apply for a subsidy of up to € 15,000 per semester for the actual additional costs of mobility abroad.
As various supporting documents must be provided for such an application and the processing time is usually several months, interested students should contact the International Office at an early stage (ideally when applying for an Erasmus+ place).

Multiple funding by ERASMUS+
Students have the opportunity to participate in the ERASMUS programme multiple times. They are eligible for 12 months of funded mobility (study and/or internship) per study period (BA, MA, PhD). This corresponds to a maximum of 3 (study periods) x 12 (maximum duration) = 36 months.
Students whose degree programmes are not divided into Bachelor's and Master's degrees can also take full advantage of the new multiple funding available through ERASMUS+ (state examination - PhD). Students have 24 months of mobility (study and/or internship) available until their first degree. This corresponds to a funding period of 1 (first stage of study) x 24 (max. duration) plus 1 (second stage of study) x 12 (max. duration) = 36 months.
