RISE Worldwide 2026

RISE Worldwide and Mitacs are once again opening the door to research internships in Canada!

Applications for internships in Canada are now being accepted: From August 7 to September 18, 2025, the Mitacs database will be open, featuring more than 13,000 projects in Canada.

The earliest start date for internships is summer 2026. The duration is 10 to 12 weeks. The DAAD is collaborating with the Canadian exchange organization Mitacs on the Globalink Program. Mitacs organizes the application process, and RISE Worldwide/DAAD funds the scholarships.

The program is open to undergraduate, diploma, and state examination students from universities and universities of applied sciences in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, medicine, psychology, and computer science. (Unfortunately, master’s students are not eligible to apply).

Scholarship recipients receive

• a monthly full DAAD scholarship stipend and
• a one-time travel allowance (both dependent on the destination country).
• health, accident, and liability insurance
• a local (Globalink) mentor.

Application for RISE Worldwide internships in Canada through our partner Mitacs/Globalink:

• August 7 to September 18, 2025,
• Internship period: 10 to 12 weeks,
• Earliest start date: May 1, 2026; latest start date: July 31, 2026 (by arrangement)
