The Senate's Research Committee (Forschungsausschuss) is responsible in particular for preparing resolutions on fundamental matters of research and early-career researchers that go beyond the scope of a single faculty. These include participation in staffing the profile-line coordination teams, the application to the DFG for Collaborative Research Centres and Research Training Groups, the allocation of positions for the preparation of coordinated projects (pool positions), the determination of the supervisory entitlement of junior research group leaders, as well as the organisation of research data management at the University. In addition, it proposes the recipients of the University's doctoral prizes and the habilitation prize to the Senate. The Research Committee also functions as the Permanent Tenure-Track Commission and forms the Commission for Security-Relevant Research from among its members.

You can find the current members of the Research Committee on the University website.
