Registration for ‚edUcatioN‘ - building a diversity sensitive and plurilingual school
We are delighted to invite you to take part in this challenging simulation game, in which you can combine and apply your knowledge and skills in the areas of plurilingualism, diversity and intercultural understanding. Together, we would like to develop a solution to the following challenge:
A new United Nations Transnational School (UNTS) is opening in a city somewhere in the midst of our vast, extremely diverse and globalised world. What makes this city special is that its population is made up of global citizens from all over the world. We therefore find ourselves in a melting pot of cultures, where people of different origins, with different languages, traditions and ways of life, live together peacefully. The new school is a comprehensive school, open to all students in the city from primary school onwards, enabling them to obtain all educational qualifications over the course of twelve school years.
Your main task in this simulation game is to design a school programme that meets the needs of every single student within this highly heterogeneous, plurilingual and extremely diverse student body. Two aspects are particularly important here:
- the promotion of plurilingualism in the entire school landscape including the language profile of the UNTS.
- the creation of a diversity-sensitive learning environment as well as the development and strengthening of pluricultural competencies.
Use your diverse experiences and perspectives to develop innovative solutions. We are looking forward to your ideas and suggestions that will help to shape a future-oriented school programme for this unique, plurilingual and diverse student body.
