The Master Service Centre (MSZ) will assist you in preparing your enrolment. The enrolment process will then be completed at the International Office and/or the Student Service Centre.

Prepare your enrolment documents

Please provide your details to learn which documents you are required to submit in order to enrol in your programme.

Important information on your admission

  • Admissions are only valid for the specific semester a candidate has applied for.
  • Admissions cannot be deferred to another semester or claimed for a later intake or enrolment. 
  • If the admission offer does not demand language certificates in the form of an admission condition, the language requirements are considered to be fulfilled in accordance to the local study regulations.
  • Enrolment can only be finished when all enrolment requirements are met. Among these requirements are:
    • mandatory language proficiencies (German and/or foreign languages)
    • formal admission conditions
    • proof of completion of admission-relevant university degree (undergraduate)
    • timely submission of the correct and complete document set.
  • Admissions expire and enrolment fails inescapably if any of the above conditions are not met or once the timeframe for enrolment has expired.

Enrolment process for international students

You are currently enrolled at the University of Jena (bachelor's or master's programme)
  1. Please note the deadline for the submission of your enrolment documents, see the details in your admission or in the Friedolin 2.0External link online application portal.
  2. Prepare your enrolment documents, see the "Prepare your enrolment documents" section above.
  3. Submit your enrolment documents by post, to our postbox or in-person during our drop-in hours.
  4. The Master Service Centre checks your documents.
  5. We forward your documents to the Student Service Centre.
  6. The Student Service Centre completes the enrolment process.
You are currently enrolled at the University of Jena (DSH course)
  1. Prepare your enrolment documents, see the "Prepare your enrolment documents" section above.
  2. You need NOT apply for enrolment in the Friedolin 2.0 online application portal.
  3. Submit your admission letter and the completed and signed Application for Change of Programme form (only page 1).
  4. No further documents are required.
  5. The Master Service Centre checks your documents.
  6. We forward your documents to the International Office.
  7. The International Office completes the enrolment process. Find more information about the last steps of the enrolment process on the page of the International Office.
You have never been enrolled or have been enrolled in the past (but not currently) at the University of Jena
  1. Please note the deadline for the submission of your enrolment documents, see the details in your admission or in the Friedolin 2.0External link online application portal.
  2. Apply for enrolment in the Friedolin 2.0External link online application portal.
  3. Prepare your enrolment documents, see the "Prepare your enrolment documents" section above.
  4. Submit your enrolment documents by post, to our postbox or in-person during our drop-in hours.
  5. The Master Service Centre checks your documents.
  6. We forward your documents to the International Office.

  5. The Master Service Centre checks your documents.
  6. We forward your documents to the Student Service Centre.
You have never been enrolled or have been enrolled in the past (but not currently) at the University of Jena

  2. You need to apply for enrolment in the Friedolin 2.0External link online application portal.
  3. Prepare your enrolment documents, see the "Prepare your enrolment documents" section above.

  5. The Master Service Centre checks your documents.
  6. We forward your documents to the Student Service Centre.
  7. The Student Service Centre completes the enrolment process.

Please note: Please send a certfied copy of your bachelor's degree certificate by 15.8. (in case of summer semester intake) or 15.2. (in case of winter semester intake) respectively to the Student Service Centre, in case you did not have the certificate by the time you enrolled. Information about certified true copies

  • In order to enrol successfully, you will need to provide certified true copies of a number of documents, usually your higher secondary education certificate, university degree(s) and academic transcripts and (if applicable) proof of your language proficiency.
  • The University of Jena accepts true copies certified by the German Embassy, your university, state institutions and notaries as well as digital certifications (e.g. via Adobe Sign or other digital verification protocol such as Verification ID/Link, portals, E-Akte).
  • Please make sure that it is certified true copies (and not simple photocopies) before you submit your documents.
  • Send certified hard copies to our postal address whereas you may submit certified soft/digital copies via Service DeskExternal link.
