The German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) is offering 15 scholarships for a one-yearacademic and language programme in the People's Republic of China in the academic year 2026/27.
The programme is open to students of all disciplines who wish to explore China from bothe an academic and personal perspective. The stay offers the opportunity to acquire solid language skills, build personal and academic networks, get to know the Chinese higher education and research landscape, and gain insights into current political and societal developments.
The scholarship includes, among other things:
- a study allowance of € 300 from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation
- a living allowance of up to € 855 per month (calculated according to German BAföG guidelines)
- if applicable, allowances for health and long-term care insurance
- a general overseas allowance of € 350
- an additional international allowance of currently €100 for recipients of the Foundation’s basic scholarship (in accordance with BaföG)
- a travel grant of up to € 1,425
- full coverage of tuition fees in China by the China Scholarship Council
- a preparatory language course run by the University of Trier
Scholarship holders are also eligible for continued support from the Foundation beyond their stay in China.
