Writers and philosophers such as Jagemann, Goethe, Schelling and the Schlegel brothers researched and translated the Italian classics, especially Dante. In 2015, the German Dante Society moved its headquarters to Weimar. The Duchess Anna Amalia Library in Weimar offers valuable, often unexplored source material and has a very modern study centre in its historic building.
