The Chinese National Arctic and Antarctic Data Center (CN-NADC) is China’s national institution for the long-term preservation and management of polar scientific data and sample information. It is operated by the Polar Research Institute of China and serves as the country’s authorized center for sustainable polar data services.

The repository was established in connection with China’s obligations under the Antarctic Treaty System and its national polar data policy. It supports the collection, standardization, preservation, and dissemination of Arctic and Antarctic research data.

An account is required to access the repository, and downloading data requires uploading Chinese identification. Accounts without Chinese identification cannot download datasets. In addition, users must describe their purpose of use and pass a review process before download approval is granted.
