Career-Mentoring for STEM-doctoral candidates
The programme "Career-Mentoring for STEM-doctoral candidates" seeks to support doctoral candidates in natural and life sciences preparing for a career in industry and society. They will receive individual mentoring by experienced people working in industry and society, who successfully built a career outside academia after their doctorate and are now willing to share their knowledge and experience. The mentoring programme was originally initiated by the Joachim Herz FoundationExternal link and is currently funded by the Thuringian Ministry of Education, Research and CultureExternal link.
Applications are open to German and international doctoral candidates from the STEM subjects at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, who are approaching a turning point in their professional careers. Applications are possible yearly in the beginning of June. Further information can be found here.
Career Mentoring for Doctoral Candidates in the Humanities and Social Sciences
The programme "Career Mentoring for Doctoral Candidates in the Humanities and Social Sciences" supports PhD candidates in answering those questions and prepares them for a successful career outside academia. During the programme participants have the opportunity to define their career goals, develop their competence profile for the non-academic job market and expand their professional networks. The programme offers a combination of three components: career mentoring, networking activities and several workshops. The mentoring programme lasts one year.
Applications are open to German and international doctoral candidates from Humanities and Social Sciences at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, who are approaching a turning point in their professional careers. Further information can be found here.
